Aliplast Panorama DV i+ Folding Door System
Aliplast Panorama DV i+ is an aluminum folding door system for a broad glazed opening at a balcony, terrace, winter garden, or public and commercial building. Its connected leaves hinge and fold aside, gathering into a selected stack instead of sliding across one another. That movement makes the opening feel different in use and changes what needs to be planned around it: the clear passage depends on the leaf arrangement, and the folded group occupies space at one side of the opening. DV i+ uses a 74.5 mm frame and 74.5 mm leaf depth, with infill from 16 to 50 mm and a maximum leaf weight of 100 kg in the manufacturer’s system data. The infill range gives a designer a defined glazing or panel thickness to work with, while the number and width of leaves shape the elevation when closed. For a project, compare the folding stack with nearby furniture, circulation paths and the available terrace area, then relate the proposed leaf widths to the passage needed when the door is open. These are system limits and dimensions, not measurements for the finished door in this listing. A folding plan is easiest to assess on the floor plan as well as in the elevation: mark the clear opening, the hinge side and the resting position of the folded leaves. This makes the relationship between access and the stack visible before the leaf grouping is fixed.
Planning a folding glazed opening
Aliplast lists inward- and outward-opening layouts for Panorama DV i+, including 2+1, 3+2 and 3+3 groupings. Inward opening places the moving leaves on the room side; outward opening places them toward the exterior, so the preferred direction should suit the way people move through the opening and the space available for the stack. The grouped numbers describe folding arrangements within the system, not a fixed door size. Hardware choices include hinges with a lower carriage and pull handle, as well as low-profile handle options. Panorama also has threshold variations, making the floor transition another point to coordinate with the opening and the surrounding floor detail. The manufacturer lists Uf from 1.33 W/m²K for DV i+; this value depends on profile combination and infill thickness. It is a system Uf figure and should not be read as the Ud or Uw of a complete door. The air, wind and water classes below are likewise published system references. The figures identify the DV i+ system family; the supplied assembly configuration determines which choices apply. The glazing choice should be considered within the stated 16–50 mm infill range and alongside the frame and leaf proportions. For a wide glazed span, the closed elevation is made up of repeated vertical divisions, while the open view is shaped by the leaves collected to one side. Comparing those two states helps align the system with the room and terrace layout.
