Aliplast FR90 Fire-Rated Interior Door System
Aliplast FR90 Fire-Rated Interior Door System
The Aliplast FR90 Fire-Rated Interior Door System is an aluminum door system for interior projects that specify fire protection. The door frame and leaf are 90 mm deep, and the system can be configured with one or two leaves. Aliplast lists EI30, EI60, and EI90 classifications for FR90 doors, each applying to a tested door configuration. A classification belongs to the complete specified assembly, so the FR90 system name by itself does not establish the rating of a particular finished door. Begin selection with the required door class and the dimensions and leaf arrangement needed for the opening. Then check that the proposed frame, infill, hardware, and other components match the applicable tested configuration. The system’s glazing range is 20 to 69 mm, while panel options are 60 mm with mineral wool or gypsum filling. This gives the design a choice between a glazed leaf and a solid panel appearance, within the limits of the selected assembly. Aliplast’s listed maximum tested door sizes are 1650 × 2870 mm for single-leaf doors and 3170 × 2870 mm for double-leaf doors; these are system references and do not promise that every combination is available at those dimensions.
FR90 Door Infill and Performance References
Infill affects both the visual character of the opening and which complete door construction is being specified. Glazing provides a view through the leaf, while a mineral-wool or gypsum-filled panel gives an opaque face. Aliplast reports Up = 0.57 W/m²K for the mineral-wool panel; that figure belongs to the panel, not the complete door. For FR90 profiles, the manufacturer lists Uf from 2.145 W/m²K, dependent on profile combination and infill thickness. This is a profile-system measure, distinct from whole-door Uw or Ud. The published system performance references also include air Class 4 under EN 12207, wind C1/B2 under EN 12210, and water Class 4A at 150 Pa under EN 12208. These values identify manufacturer system data and should be considered with the exact profile and infill configuration. For practical selection, coordinate the opening size, required door classification, leaf count, glazing or panel, and hardware as one specification. The source-tested dimensions are helpful when considering scale, but the allowable dimensions for a particular rated build still depend on its tested configuration. Confirm the complete configuration and its supporting documentation before assigning any EI rating to a finished door.
