DRE Sara Eco 2

DRE Sara Eco 2 is designed around a concealed aluminum frame and an interior leaf that can be finished to coordinate with the wall. The frame is embedded in the opening and covered by masonry finishing or drywall, leaving only its reveal visible after the surrounding work is complete. This creates a quieter doorway when the design calls for the wall surface to remain the dominant element. The leaf can be ordered primed for painting or wallpapering, giving the project a way to carry the room’s chosen finish across the door. Sara Eco 2 is therefore best planned as part of the wall detail, with the frame position, finish, and opening direction decided before final decorating begins.

The collection offers a non-rebated outward-opening arrangement and a reverse-rebate inward-opening arrangement. These options allow the movement to follow the room layout while retaining the concealed-frame concept. Decide which side should present the coordinated wall surface and where the open leaf will sit in relation to furniture and circulation. The primed version is prepared for painting or wallpapering, with paintable edging on the leaf. DRE also offers DRE-Cell, 3D, and other listed finish selections for projects that need a finished door surface rather than an on-site wall treatment. A wall-colored leaf and a contrasting factory finish give different results, even though both use the same concealed-frame approach.

Sara Eco 2 uses a standard honeycomb core, with a softwood or MDF frame according to the selected finish construction. The leaf is prepared for two or three recessed hinges, and the aluminum frame is a separate selection. Magnetic lock choices include a regular key, bathroom lock, cylinder preparation, or latch-only arrangement. Optional tubular or solid chipboard fillings are available for the relevant configurations. These selections should be made with the height family and frame specification in mind; the manufacturer requires three hinges for certain heavier-core configurations in the 202 height family. Coordinate the frame installation with wall finishing, then complete the leaf surface treatment so the door and surrounding wall receive the intended final appearance.
